I’m not ashamed to admit that it is my favorite Disney resort. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is filled with fun and some pretty cool features too.
From the extraordinary decor, the extra space of the family suites and the activities around the Art of Animation resort – it isn’t your typical accommodations – I know I’m at Walt Disney World as soon as I step on property.
While the resort has three pools, the Big Blue Pool is always our first choice. And here’s a fun, little secret – if you listen while underwater, you can hear Nemo and friends talking to each other.
Incredible Things To Know About The Famous Walt Disney
The flooring in Landscape of Flavors food court is made from all recyclable materials. Guests dine with real silverware on melamine, reusable dishware instead of paper and plastic.
The Landscapes of Flavor food court has a great variety of food – from chicken nuggets and pizza to the ‘create your own pasta’ bar, curry chicken and my personal favorite -the Surf & Surf burger, a crab cake topped with fried shrimp and cajun remoulade sauce.
When you stay at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, make time to explore the other areas of the property. From Radiator Springs and the Cars crew to The Lion King, Finding Nemo and even The Little Mermaid – the attention to details are incredible at this resort.
We've Eaten At Every Restaurant In Disney's Animal Kingdom. These Are The Best.
While you should always watch where you are walking, keep an eye out for Hidden Mickeys in the carpet. There are quite a few at this resort and my family and I love seeing who can be the first to find them. (Can you find the Hidden Mickey in this picture below?!)
You’ll find the Finding Nemo buildings closest to Animation Hall (aka the main building) and next to the Big Blue Pool. Mr. Ray is iconic and definitely worth of a photo opportunity during your visit.
Pencil drawings of Ariel, Lightning McQueen, Nemo and Simba adorn the entryway, and a whimsical chandelier composed of 77 animation storyboards enhances the lively and modern Animation Hall lobby.
The Crystal Palace At Magic Kingdom
As you enter the resort’s main doors at check-in, you’ll notice rough sketches along the walls of some of Disney’s most popular characters. As you make your way further along the hallway, you’ll notice the sketches become more and more distinct, finally reaching the color sketches – bringing the stories to life.
The “Finding Nemo” “Cars” and “The Lion King” are family suites with elaborate storytelling both inside and out. Family suites include two bathrooms, a kitchenette and three separate sleeping areas that can sleep up to six. “The Little Mermaid” wing features 864 standard style guest rooms.
The themeing in each of these movies areas is incredible. Even if you don’t stay at the resort, it is worth visiting just to check out Radiator Springs and all of the cars on display. The attention to details are incredible — definitely a true Disney experience.
